ACTON BRIDGE PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting held on Monday 1st October 2007

1. Public Matters

Two members of the public present.
Brine Pipeline. It was asked if there was a good map for the pipeline. The only map in the possession of the PC is the official one issued by NPL. NPL have written direct to owners of land where pipeline is to be laid. Pipeline does not affect Acton Bridge although it affects neighbouring villages. It was suggested that those affected should write for further information.

Mr J Oliver was welcomed. He has expressed an interest in becoming a Parish Councillor.

2. Minutes

Minutes of meeting held on 3rd September 07 were accepted & signed.

3. Matters Arising.

a) Equine questionnaire has been completed. A copy in folder for circulation.
b) Bus Shelter. Ownership of land to be checked with Land Registry. A phone call has been received from the suppliers of benches and waste bins informing the PC that prices are to rise in November. Mrs Bayley to be informed. VRBC to be contacted as to who would empty a new bin.
c) Wind Farm. Minutes of meetings held on 4th Sept & 27 Sept received.
d) Fence, Milton Rough, no news as yet.
e) Paperwork on small grants scheme received. To be passed to ABCA.
f) Oak tree, Station Rd, Mr Holt will write to VR Planning.
g) VR has given permission to co-opt 2 new councillors.
h) Present for Robert Gleave. Christine, his wife, to be contacted.

4. Planning Applications

5. Planning Decisions

a) Manor Farm - approved
b) Willow Cottage, Cliff Rd - approved
c) Omega House, Sandfield Lane - approved.

6. Authority for signing cheques and Financial Matters

Hacker Young, Auditors has given Acton Bridge Parish Council a clean report.
Letter to be sent to Peter Young thanking him for being the Internal Auditor.
Signatures required for 2 withdrawals
Auditors fee (cheque) £58.75
Clerk's salary (3 mths) £240
Precept. Second instalment has been paid into bank.

10. Village Matters

a) Speeding. Mr S Critchley to speak to Police.
b) E-mail from John Hulme to S Pardoe. New train timetable has been issued. AB gains one train am peak time but loses all daytime trains until approx 4.30pm. with one evening train from Liverpool. There is a feedback form. It was suggested that they are placed in a box at the railway station.
c) Working party to tidy corner opposite Hazel Pear Inn Sat 10th Nov 10-12 o'clock.

11. Any other business

a) The Clerk's pay was discussed as it is 2 years since last discussion. It was agreed to increase Clerk's salary from £80 to £90. The Clerk and Chairman left the meeting before this was discussed. It was agreed that the Clerk's salary should in future be discussed at the January meeting along with the Precept.

12. Next meeting will be on 5th November 2007 at 7.30pm.
