ACTON BRIDGE PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting held on Monday 4rd September 2006

Apologies were received from Mr M Hodgson.

1. Public Matters

Three members of the public present.

2. Minutes

Minutes of meeting held on 3rd July were accepted & signed.

3. Matters Arising.

a) Wind Farm Aston Grange - Tegni. Mr Pardoe reported that there will be a site visit by VRBC on 29th Sept and the Planning Committee is expected to meet on the 3rd October. Mr S Pardoe will attend.
b) There is still one more vacancy to be filled for the position of Parish Councillor.
c) Letter to be sent to Mr R Brooks, CCC Highways Dept arranging a meeting with Mrs H Bayley to tour village to see what work is required on roads and footpaths.
d Cheshire Police merger. Letter received stating that the plans for merger has been abandoned.
e) Milk lorries appear to have stopped coming through the village.
f) Best Kept Village. Winners to be announced on 28th Sept at Knutsford.
g) Fence - Strawberry Lane. Enforcement Officer to be contacted again.
h) Bus Shelter - decision was made to clear the site and has now been completed. Landowner has erected a temporary fence. Suggestions requested for builder to erect a new shelter.
i) Boxes for waste plastics. Letter to be sent to VRBC asking why Acton Bridge has been left out of the pilot scheme (80% -20%)and when will they be supplied?

4. Planning Applications

a) Agricultural workers dwelling, Flushing Meadows, Old Lane, for Mr & Mrs Woodward (outline plan). Generally there was no objection but it was suggested that it could be placed within the existing area of buildings. Mr Woodward may consider retirement, and would it then be necessary for another dwelling? b) Single storey rear extension, 30 Cliff Rd, for Mr & Mrs Gardiner - No objection. c) Extns & alterations to dwelling (resubmission) Milton Heyes for Mr & Mrs McCormack - No objection, but requested that the new size of building proposed to be compared to the size of the original building.

5. Planning Decisions

a) Extns & alterations to dwelling, Milton Heyes Sandfield Lane - Refused.
b) Two storey rear & side extn, Holly Tree Cottage, Acton Lane - Refused.
c) Replacement garage, 3 Chapel Lane - Permitted.
d) Two storey rear extn, 71 Cliff Rd - Permitted.
e) Two storey rear extn, 73 Cliff Rd - Permitted.
f) Garden shed & greenhouse. Demolition of existing shed, 68 Cliff Rd - Permitted.
g) Canopy over front entrance, 68 Cliff Rd - Permitted.
h) Proposed roof conversion & internal alteration, 8 Milton Rough - Permitted.

6. Authority for signing cheques and Financial Matters

Clerk's salary for 3 months.
£50 to Mr Fowler for clearing bus shelter site.

10. Village Matters

a) S Barnett, Central Trains would like Acton Bridge to officially adopt the railway station. Meeting 16th October.
b) Pear Festival, Saturday 9th September.
c) Nursery, Station Rd. Lease not offered for renewal.

11. Any other business

a) Weaverham and Acton Bridge Trust require a new member. Mr S Pardoe to attend. Mrs R Batsford to be informed.
b) Quotes required for bus shelter replacement.

12. Next meeting will be held on Monday 2nd October 2006 at 7.30pm.
