The vacancy to be advertised.
1. Public Matters
No members of the public present.
2. Minutes of the last meeting held on 12th May were accepted and signed as a correct record.
3. Matters Arising
a) Playing field - Contact has been made with Sara Case-Upton at VR ref starting date for new equipment to be installed on the playing field. Work to commence soon but a meeting with a representative of the PC and the children will be arranged first.
b) Work on verges of Chapel Lane proceeding well.
c) No reply yet to the report sent to CCC about the road markings near the Hazel Pear.
d) Cheshire Railings. John Oakley has suggested that it could be possible to erect some old railings that they have at VR. He will check this and let the PC know.
e) Bus shelter, Station Rd. As the shelter is the property of the Parish Council it needs to be included on the Insurance.
f) Litter bin request for corner of Chapel Lane/Cliff Rd. Letter stating that after inspection it was felt that there was not a need for a bin.
g) Training of Clerks and Quality Parish Councils. This was discussed and the general feeling that this scheme was for larger councils. Smaller councils do not think it necessary. Decisions to be made at next meeting.
h) Caravan parked near playing field. Access has been checked and it appears that grass cutters can access the field.
i) Cycling races through village. Contact has been made with Weaver Valley Cycling Club and they have said that its members are disqualified from the race if they infringe any road safety rules. They will inform PC on any future events.
Matters arising from the public at the AGM.
a) Stinging nettles and brambles encroaching onto footpaths. J Oakley to be contacted as the edges have not been cut back for a long time and the width of pavements is lessening.
b) Public footpaths through fields are overgrown. Contact to be made with the Countryside Rangers at County Council.
c) Horse & rider signposts. Cliff Road - Signs to be requested for both sides of the bad bend
d) White lines on A49. Double lines to be requested.
4. Planning Applications
a) Gables, Station Rd for Mr MacNeil. Alterations to roof. Neighbour objects to proposal. After a site visit and discussions the PC felt that it was a disproportionate development that did not support the application, and therefore reject the proposal.
b) 25 Milton Rough. Conversion of existing buildings and 1st floor extn (Retrospective) for MacMillans estate agents. It was decided that this application should be rejected, as the original one was turned down by VRBC, but the work went ahead without permission.
c) Wall Hill Cottage, Acton Lane. Demolish existing dwelling and build a new 2 storey detached house for Mr& Mrs B Langford. PC do not object in principle to the demolition (although the existing house is not beyond repair) but do object to a building that is an enlargement on the existing property. It will also be a very dominating property.
d) 7 Wall Hill Way. Bedroom extn & replacement of flat roof with pitched roof for Ms Van Der Velde After consultation with neighbours & a discussion the PC decided that they had no objections.
