Apologies for absence received from Mr R Gleave, Mrs E Burrows and Cllr A Hooker.
The meeting was chaired by Mr R Holt.

1. Minutes of the last meeting held on 6^th January were accepted and signed as a correct record.

2. Public Matters
No members of the public present.

3. Matters Arising...

a) Playing field - Ian Atherton to be contacted again to request copies of letters sent to the children and to check on progress.
b) Fences, Milton Rough - still not been mended after accident and street lamp not working, J Oakley to be contacted again.
c) Village Plan - M Hodgson has acquired a map. Mr M Hodgson will have map framed. Cost of map & frame approx £40.
d) Letter sent to Police with reference to 'speed gun'. No response as yet, letter to be followed up.
e) Street Lamps at top of Acton Lane. They have still not been seen to. Contact to be made again.
f) Street Lighting, Wall Hill Way. Backford Hall contacted. No response as yet.
g) Risk Assessment is being carried out by ABCA. Parish Council could use part of assessment.
h) Weaverham Village Show. Not a lot of support for Acton Bridge to join in.
i) Businesses, 20 & 49 Hill Top Rd. Letter received from VRBC stating that they found no evidence. To be followed up.
j) Invitation to service at Chester Cathedral. 2 March. Mr R Gleave to attend.
k) Road markings & island outside Hazel Pear Pub. Strong letter to be sent to CCC as cars are still speeding causing hazards. A request to be sent asking Mr J Gibbs to meet Mr K Worrall for a site visit.
l) Land behind Hazel Pear has been tidied by the Landlord. Mr K Worrall has thanked him and the Council is to send a letter thanking him also.
m) Village Plan. Mr S Pardoe has downloaded from the computer Tarporley village plan as an example. To be circulated.
n) New notice board has been delivered and erected.

4. Planning Applications

a) Sandycroft, Warrington Rd. Erection of block of 8 Timber stables and stores, for Mr & Mrs Butler. Sue Glover, Planning Dept was contacted for more time to consider plans. Sue Glover to be phoned, with a letter to follow stating Parish Council's objections to the development i.e. possible commercial dev't although not stated on plans, access a real problem and the fact that it is green belt land.
b) Sandfield Lane, Milton Heyes. Extn to form Conservatory/Vinery & erection of Detached garage, for Mr & Mrs Heath. Site visit was proposed because of disproportionate size of garage. Mr E Connor & Mr N Tappin to visit site.

5. Planning Decisions
None.

6. Authority for signing cheques
Burial Committee -cheque for £114 has been sent.
PC contribution to new kitchens. Cheque for £257.91 to be sent to ABCA.

Burial Committee meeting - Mr M Hodgson proposed as Chairman and was accepted.

a) CCC County Forum Agenda 6^th Feb
b) CCC Letter from Backford Hall, Mr B Mercer, concerning Cheshire Railings opposite Hazel Pear pub. Letters to be sent to Mr Penney and landlord of Hazel Pear pub.
c) Local Plan half-day seminar Thurs 20^th March - attendance to be confirmed.
d) Borough & Parish Council Elections 1^st May - preliminary matters.
e) Manchester Airport Mobile Outreach prog. Spring 2003 - advice service and posters.
f) VRBC Invitation to VR Mayor's Charity Dinner 28^th Feb.
g) Cheshire Cauldron Newsletter.
h) VR Citizens Advice letter requesting donation. Check if donation has been sent this financial year.

10. Village Matters

a) A 'litter pick' around the village needs to be organised. Poss end of March.
b) Footpaths need attention after cleaning having been done by VRBC. Tarmac has been lifted in parts. Phone J Oakley.
c) 'The Parish Councillor's Guide': Mr M Hodgson suggested that all Councillors should have a latest copy of the book.
